PADI2U - IOT Innnovation on Paddy Field

June 30,2019 - PADI2U is a mobile application developed for paddy at KADA Kelantan. This mobile application contains information about KADA, PadiU Putra, weather, site information, paddy pest and disease, method to control infection, fertilization, planting schedule, yield harvested and multispectral images.

The development of this application is made because it helps farmers in paddy management of paddy fields. With the help of this app, farmers can learn paddy information more easily and quickly without having to look through the rice fields. Just based on the image information in this app, the farmers can take appropriate action to improve the yield of rice.

PADI2U will benefit farmers in searching for information as they face difficulty in finding information regarding their plot, including photos of the pest and disease information. Farmers can also control the herbicide and fertilizer required because all fertilizer and herbicide treatment will be based on the paddy plot condition and multispectral images.

This mobile application can be installed from Google Playstore and user can use directly to access information. This application was developed using a mobile application development software called Master App Builder. Materials needed are drone, software and hardware, computer, smartphone, web server and camera.

The advantages of this mobile application compared to others is that it has multispectral images in PADI2U.  Installation of this application there is for free. The technology uses smartphone where almost every farmer owns one. The installation time for this application is short and farmers can use this application anytime.
